New fascias and Lindab guttering installation in Hadley Wood, North London

Lindab steel rainwater systems

When you look up at the roofline of a house do you even notice the gutters and downpipes? If you do, and they make you take a second look, it’s probably Lindab Guttering, a top-end steel rainwater system that we at Summit Cladding love to instal on customers’ homes.

Summit was contacted by Neel, from Hadley Wood near Barnet, who was having a bit of trouble with his roof, which needed a bit more than mere cosmetic changes. The original scalloped timber barge boards were rotting, the decorative finule through the ridge tiles was beyond repair and the cement work in the roof valleys was unstable.

Maintenance-free fascia boards

With scaffolding in place, Summit set about the repairs, starting with the removal of all the original timber and ridge tiles. In place of the bargeboards we fitted 18mm while pvc fascia boards with over-fascia vents and eaves support trays, and new tiles were fitted along the ridgeline. We also tackled the damaged cement work in the roof valleys, before turning to the task that would give this job the wow factor.

Striking colour contrast

Lindab gutters, originally created in Sweden, are designed to withstand anything the weather can throw at them – and look fantastic into the bargain. It’s a hard-wearing steel rainwater system that won’t rust or leak, is lighter than cast iron and superior to traditional plastic gutters which move and leak at the joints. It also comes in a selection of colours, in the traditional half round shape or in a bold rectangular design.

As you can see from the pictures, our client, Neel, chose the half round gutters in black which, when set against the brilliant white fascias and soffits, look terrific. He and his family are delighted with the sleek and contemporary new look of their home, and Summit Cladding are proud to have created this transformation.
